The food is very good the place is very clean and the owner is at simply very very nice.

Good food nice to have something different than the usual chains around. Lot of choices on a daily fresh menu and locals love this place as well.

First tried this place from a catered event. Wasn't very good, food tasted a bit bland. However, I tried it again at another catered event and it was different food and tasted much better. It was the chunky chicken salad that was delicious. This made me want to try it again. I went to the deli on my own and found it odd that they are only open for a few hours. It was extremely busy and the wait was excessive. It took over 30 minutes to get food although the staff was friendly and apologized for the wait. These are the reasons why I gave it 3 stars. But the chunky chicken salad gets 5 stars. Would eat again if I pre-ordered the food

What a great little spot! If you are looking for somewhere to grab a sandwich, burger or salad, here it is! Jim is the owner and he is just so great! He makes you feel like he has known you forever. The food is great and quick. At lunch time it is a happening place with a never ending line at the register. If you are looking for somewhere to go, where it is relaxed and the food is never disappointing , check out this little jewel on the square.

Great food & not pricey like most of the restaurants in downtown Covington! Their Chunky Chicken Salad & Broccoli Salad is to die for! A must try!

Don't always judge a restaurant by its name. There is nothing plain about their food. Just plain delicious.

On a scale of 0 - 5, Plain Nuts Catering and Deli earns a solid 10! The food is home cooked and delicious, it is a modified self-service restaurant, but full service is available if needed and requested. The best people in Covington eat here, so the ambiance is always one of home town warmth and congeniality. Everything on the menu is special, but Jim does have daily specials as a reduced price. If you can't tell, I am a 'regular' and feel honored to be one.

Their chicken salad and tomato soup are amazing. Fresh made and very consistent.

Great sandwiches and love their tomato bisque soup. They also have wonderful sides to go with your sandwiches all made from scratch.

I have had some wonderful lunches here, but last week I ordered a chicken salad sandwich that had no taste. The meat was chopped into paste and evidently just mixed with mayonaise. I couldn't detect any seasoning at all. Very disappointing. That being said, I have had many other things on the menu that were very good, if not outstanding.

I've only gone here for lunch but their sandwiches are greatly loved in our office. They are always so friendly and generally quite quick. I love this place!

Man, this joint is, Plain Nuts. The owner is way out there. He is a real old hippy and you gotta go see his cute ponytail. Also, the chow is top shelf.

The fabulous chunky chicken-salad on cranberry-nut bread is the best this side of Louisiana. Everything I have eaten at Plain Nuts has been delicious. The owner and staff are friendly and gracious at all times.

Great soups. Love their hamburgers!! You can't beat the friendliness. Love to have lunch here.

The best deli I have found in recent years... The prices are very reasonable, and I haven't found a single thing I dislike yet. I usually eat here about twice a week, and it's always full of regulars for a reason.

I recently attended a wedding that was catered by this establishment. I along with 90+ people got very sick and some were hospitalized (er and actual hospital stays) including my week old newborn. It landed us 37 hours in Scottish Rite with numerous scans and a spinal tap. I am from Covington and have been to this place several times. I always support local businesses on and around the square but this is unacceptable! Something needs to happen! Since the event that I attended there has been at least one more and now there are more hospitalized. All with the same diagnosis of Salmonella. I truly hope that something is done about this as our situation could have been a lot worse.

It's a quaint little Deli right off the square. The food there is quite delicious. I would recommend anybody to go there for lunch once in awhile.

I really love the burgers, especially the guac burger.

Everytime I visit plain nuts the food is fabulous, the atmosphere is so homey, the people and customers are so friendly, but it way too small. Needs more room due to it's popularity.

This place catered for a work event and it consisted of Mexican food for our dinner in which we had to assemble ourselves. The food wasn't very good and didn't have any flavor. What really ruined it though, when we were in line and got to the container that had the hard shell tortillas for the nachos and one of the guest asked the young man that helped set the food up for tongs, he kinda looked around and then turned back and told her to "just picked them up with your hand." Everyone in line that heard this turned and gave him a dirty look or vocalized their displeasure. After a few moments of disbelief, the guest that had asked for the tongs finally went and got a styrofoam cup to use. This was an event that had around 30-40 people and he wanted everyone sticking their hand in the bowl to get food.

Small deli, great food quality, and price is reasonable. Seating area is limited, large groups wouldn't have space. They do offer catering and to go options.
